QUICK TAKES

This is one of the episodes that really highlights the special bond that the Black Bulls have. The love of Vanessa had for her team enabled her to defeat the Queen of Witches. Now, because of this, the team was able to retrieve the Magic stone and gain more useful information about their enemy, the Eye of the Midnight Sun!!

This episode felt more like diller, but tied up the arc quite well. The character interactions were the star of the show, of course. The audience is dipped right back into the Black Bull's antics and chaotic situations. The whole sequence with Gordon explaining Gauche was unexpectedly wholesome too! My opinion on Gauche has shifted so much since his introduction.

I was not expecting that ending with Fana and Mars, but it felt fitting the more I thought about it. Though it was bittersweet the two separated right after being reunited for the first time in a while. The Diamond kingdom is so far hinted at being corrupt or having a more complicated government.

Wish they expanded more on Vanessa and the Queen's relationship. There's definitely way more to their history, given the Queen's admittedly wholesome flashback of her.. Hoping for more exposition on her birthplace in the future! They're great allies to have.

EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 65 lands squarely at the tail end of the Witches' Forest Arc, serving as a decompression point after its climactic battles. It bridges the gap between that arc's resolution and the next wave of challenges by delivering essential backstory on the Eye of the Midnight Sun and the magic stones. For viewers roughly a third of the way through Black Clover's 170-episode run, this is a pivotal setup episode that reorients the story's trajectory heading into what comes next.
