This is one of the episodes that really highlights the special bond that the Black Bulls have. The love of Vanessa had for her team enabled her to defeat the Queen of Witches. Now, because of this, the team was able to retrieve the Magic stone and gain more useful information about their enemy, the Eye of the Midnight Sun!!

This episode felt more like diller, but tied up the arc quite well. The character interactions were the star of the show, of course. The audience is dipped right back into the Black Bull's antics and chaotic situations. The whole sequence with Gordon explaining Gauche was unexpectedly wholesome too! My opinion on Gauche has shifted so much since his introduction.

I was not expecting that ending with Fana and Mars, but it felt fitting the more I thought about it. Though it was bittersweet the two separated right after being reunited for the first time in a while. The Diamond kingdom is so far hinted at being corrupt or having a more complicated government.

Wish they expanded more on Vanessa and the Queen's relationship. There's definitely way more to their history, given the Queen's admittedly wholesome flashback of her.. Hoping for more exposition on her birthplace in the future! They're great allies to have.

Vanessa's reaction when the Witch Queen just surprisingly coughed up that magic stone was hilarious, I totally thought she'd put up a bigger fight for it! But man, my mind is still reeling from the bombshell that Asta's swords once belonged to the Elf leader; it makes his whole journey feel so much bigger than just a magic-less kid, and I'm hyped to see what crazy twists come next.

My head is spinning from those lore drops about the Elves and Asta's swords being connected to their leader because it explains so much about why those weapons are so weird

That new opening song by Kankaku Pierrot is such a jam and the visuals for it look way better than the last one

You could really tell how much the Black Bulls missed each other when they all started acting like idiots again at the very end

Vanessa using the red thread of fate to literally change destiny was cool, but the way the Witch Queen did a total 180 on her personality felt a bit fast

I was actually shocked when the Witch Queen just gave up and healed everyone after Vanessa showed off that red cat fate magic

Watching Mars decide to fix the Diamond Kingdom was a great turn for him and seeing him recruit Ladros makes it feel like a huge shift is coming

The Witch Queen really tried to control Vanessa and then got outplayed by that thread magic and watching her finally admit defeat and heal Asta was a great end for this fight

The Black Bulls finally heading back to their base felt like a huge weight lifted because they really went through it in this forest. Vanessa finally being free and realizing where she belongs was the highlight for me, and seeing the Witch Queen actually help Asta out at the end was a really surprising but satisfying turn for her.

My stress levels were so high when Asta was injured but seeing him get healed and then screaming at home made me happy and the red thread magic is honestly overpowered

This felt like a really satisfying way to wrap up the forest arc instead of just rushing into the next big battle right away. Seeing the Witch Queen actually change her mind because of Vanessa was a huge moment for both of them, and Asta finally has his arms back too. Plus the stuff with Mars and the Diamond Kingdom makes those two feel like real allies now.

Mars and Ladros are finally heading off to fix their kingdom, which is a nice change of pace after all the fighting. Asta getting his arms back makes everything feel right again.

Having Asta finally move his arms again and seeing him celebrate with everyone is the only thing that matters after that brutal fight in the woods

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 65 lands squarely at the tail end of the Witches' Forest Arc, serving as a decompression point after its climactic battles. It bridges the gap between that arc's resolution and the next wave of challenges by delivering essential backstory on the Eye of the Midnight Sun and the magic stones. For viewers roughly a third of the way through Black Clover's 170-episode run, this is a pivotal setup episode that reorients the story's trajectory heading into what comes next.
