Not AS much happens in this episode, it's mostly to start off the new witch village arc and bridge the Fanzell story to this one. It feels like a smooth transition, more so because Vanessa's backstory was shown in the past (briefly) and the cult people finally make a return.

The subtle world building and atmosphere created around the witch place feels pretty weak atm. Mostly because a majority of this episode is focused on Asta and friends' journey to said place. Although the queen is pretty terrifying right off the bat; she even off-screened Vanessa

At least the chaotic sequence cleared up the plot hole and answered why Fanzell is always butt naked I guess

you have to feel for vanessa going back to that creepy place just to save asta from those cursed arms and the witch queen gives off such evil mother vibes it is actually unsettling

I was actually shocked to see Fana show up with a literal dragon and the stakes feel so much higher now that Asta is basically useless with those arms and it makes me nervous to see what the Witch Queen wants with Vanessa because that whole vibe in the forest is creepy and the animation was rough but the plot kept me hooked

The animation on the birds was pretty bad but the background art in the throne room looked amazing, and the way the Witch Queen treats Vanessa makes it clear she is going to be a problem

Finral losing his pants in the middle of a secret mission is exactly why he is the best part of this squad, and seeing Vanessa go back home for Asta really shows how much she cares about the team and how much she is willing to risk for them

fana showing up with that dragon is going to be a huge problem for the group and the witch queen being able to see the future makes her seem impossible to beat for now

Fana showing up again with that massive spirit dragon had me absolutely screaming, dude! I was so hyped to see her back in action even if the Witch Queen's animation felt a little wonky in some parts, especially with her nose looking all weird. What a wild return!

I got chills when the witch queen started talking about manipulating destiny because that sounds way too powerful for this show and i hope she can actually fix asta instead of just killing everyone

you can tell the animation took a massive dive this week especially with those cgi birds and the way the witch queen looked was just weird but the story is actually getting good

I am so glad Vanessa finally got some spotlight because her magic being related to destiny is huge and that Witch Queen lady is terrifying

I can't believe Vanessa actually went back to that forest for Asta's sake and it really shows how much she loves her squad now after running away from the Queen for so long

I really felt for Asta this episode because seeing him try to swing his sword with those mangled arms was rough, but the comedy with Noelle and Finral helped balance things out. The way they just waltzed into the forest using royal influence was funny and it makes me nervous to see what the Witch Queen does to them next

It made me laugh so hard seeing Noelle and Finral trying to be sneaky but failing because they are just too loud and chaotic for a stealth mission

the way the witch queen just uses blood magic to control people is way more dark than anything else we have seen in this show

the fact that vetto really did a number on astas arms is so stressful and it makes the situation feel actually dangerous

How did Fana get that massive dragon so fast because it looks way bigger than before and that fire magic is going to be a nightmare for Asta to deal with

The Witch Queen looks like a total monster and her presence alone makes the whole forest feel super dangerous and creepy for the squad

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 57 launches the Witches' Forest infiltration arc, following the group's efforts in prior episodes to find a way to help Asta's cursed arms through Fanzell's connections. This marks the transition from preparation to action, as the crew moves from gathering allies to directly confronting danger. The next episode, 'Battlefield Decision,' escalates the conflict significantly as external forces close in on the forest, making this entry a critical setup for the arc's major confrontations.
