I still cannot believe Taki actually let the book take over like that and now everything is just a loop of suffering

That basement ritual scene was absolutely messed up and watching the shadows swallow everyone was incredibly disturbing

The visuals for the black descent ritual were surprisingly high quality for an old ova, and the way the shadows moved really sold the supernatural threat.

It felt like the plot rushed the final confrontation and we didn't get enough closure for some of the side characters who were cursed earlier

The soundtrack during the final descent into the basement really nailed that creepy 90s horror vibe and made the blood rituals feel way more intense

The occult magic backfiring on the people who thought they could control it made my day and Taki finally showed some spine

That ending didn't even feel like a victory because everyone is so scarred and the atmosphere in that basement was thick with dread

shinji_ikari_180
I cannot believe the ending actually went there with the ritual and Taki trying to play the hero after starting all this mess with the book. Seeing Imari in that state broke my heart, and Reika being the ultimate villain was so satisfyingly evil even if the magic logic got a bit confusing at the very end. This finale was dark.

I really thought Taki would save Kurumi but seeing her trapped in that ritual circle was brutal and I actually felt bad for how much they all suffered in this finale

Taki finally trying to fix his mistakes felt too little too late because the magic already ruined everything and everyone he cared about

The way Reika just used everyone as tools for her power grab was sick and the ritual scenes looked way darker than the early episodes

Watching the whole school basement collapse into that weird hellscape was crazy and seeing Imari lose her mind like that was genuinely disturbing

seeing the black bible finally consume everyone was such a grim way to wrap this up and the supernatural horror elements really carried the finale

The basement atmosphere felt thick, and seeing the shadows move during the descent made the ritual actually dangerous

watching kurumi suffer like that really ruined my mood and the fact that nobody actually got a happy ending after all that magic mess is just depressing

the ritual scene felt like it dragged on way too long and i wanted to see more of taki actually trying to fix his mess before the basement collapsed

I can't believe how dark this got in the end and seeing Reimi basically win everything made my stomach turn but in a good way for a horror story

it was intense watching taki try to save imari only to realize he was just another pawn in the cult game

I really didn't expect the finale to go that hard on the supernatural horror elements and seeing Taki try to fix his mistakes only to make everything worse was painful to watch. Having the ritual in the basement turn into a total bloodbath made the stakes feel real and the ending left me feeling pretty empty inside for Imari.

that supernatural stuff in the basement was way more interesting than the sex scenes and seeing the school literally descend into hell was a lot

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following 'Black Dinner,' which saw alliances fracture and tensions reach a breaking point, 'Black Descent' is the six-episode series finale, delivering the decisive confrontation between Kitami, Minase, and Takashiro that the entire season has been building toward. This is the payoff episode — every narrative thread introduced across the series converges here on Walpurgis Night. As the final episode, it sets up nothing beyond itself; this is the end of the line.
