Love this episode. The way we do the time skip and introduce everyone and their strengths/weaknesses is fun. Love seeing everyone working together and finally graduating. The scare at the end is so sudden I almost thought it was a dream. Nice save by Sasha when Samuel fell too

The tension comes from anticipation rather than action, making the looming danger feel unavoidable.

A calm but uneasy episode that reinforces ambition, fear, and ideological differences before everything collapses again.

This one sharpens character dynamics and choices. Not everyone wants to fight, and that contrast feels realistic. The ending brings back tension suddenly, reminding you that danger is never far away in this world.

The drill sequence is brilliant at the start of this episode. It brings up the mood. The hand-to-hand practice was also commendable. The comedy undertone is a key to this storytelling. Their scout division brought them hope, but foreshadowing helped the flow to shift its course.

The characters are starting to improve. I think this training arc are meaningful and a must watch to know their struggles. And as i watched, i meet more key characters and the tension slowly builds up again.

Annie and Sasha are the girls I aspire to be, so effortlessly good at everything even when they seem like they’re slacking off. The last part made my heart skip a beat. I honestly thought it was just an illusion at first. It was so intense and thrilling can’t wait for the next ep

This episode really shows who these cadets are and how their ambition, insecurity and ego are humanized here. That said, i do wonder how the titan came so close to the wall before anyone saw it. Is it just for the shock value or is there more to that?

The shift from training to high-stakes reality is executed perfectly here. The tactical focus on the 3D Maneuver Gear mechanics it makes the scouts feel like a real military unit. The sudden tension at the end is a masterclass in pacing. It’s gritty, smart, and intense.

I love the way the characters have been built upon in this anime. This episode too is a little slow when it comes to the pace as compared to the other episodes. But you can really see the effort put into Eren to build his character into someone the audience can admire.

The pace in this episode was a little bit slow compared from the first three episodes. The reality finally sinking in Eren’s perspective and his determination to to be strong and overcome the tragic nightmare gradually starting to be his resolve in standing and facing it off.

This episode did a great job showing how much they have grown over three years. I was laughing so much at Mikasa blaming Sasha's gas for the noise in the dining hall, but then the ending changed the mood so fast. Seeing Eren stand his ground on the wall while everyone else was panicking, it made me realize he is a real soldier now

Annie taking down Eren and Reiner without even trying was so cool and her point about the best soldiers hiding in the interior is actually kind of messed up

The way the Colossal Titan just appeared behind them while they were laughing was terrifying and it ruined the only happy moment the cadets have ever had

I felt my stomach drop when the lightning struck because the cadets were actually starting to look like a real team and then everything got destroyed

I actually cheered when Eren used that move he learned from Annie to floor Jean, because it proves he was actually focused during their training drills

It was great how Sasha used her wire to save Samuel from falling off the wall. You usually see her as the comic relief so it was cool how she moved that fast

The graduation rankings were actually really interesting for showing how everyone compares. It made the whole ceremony feel important before the Colossal Titan showed up and ruined the peace

Watching the top ten graduates stand there with all that hope and then having the Colossal Titan show up right at the gate of Trost was the biggest reality check possible

Jean being a jerk about wanting to live in the interior just to be safe instead of fighting makes that rivalry with Eren feel so much more real

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned as the final chapter of the training arc, this episode completes the cadets' transformation from frightened recruits (episodes 2-3) into soldiers who must now choose their fate. It serves as a critical bridge — everything built here in terms of character motivation and relationships gets stress-tested immediately in episode 5, when the graduated soldiers face their first real encounter with the Titans and the stakes become devastatingly real.
