Another great episode. The emotional impact of having to witness the aftermath of everything that happened in episode 1 really got me. Seeing the 2 bigger titans made me feel such doom and despair for my trio

The episode slows down just enough to show the human cost of disaster. The desperation feels disturbingly real throughout.

This episode slows down just enough to show the aftermath. The chaos turns into grief and harsh reality. Eren’s determination starts forming here, and the world feels even more cruel. It builds emotional weight without losing tension.

The world surrounding the characters is explained with suggestive visuals. It helps the audience to cope soundly with the plot. Everyone is evacuated. Titan takes up the outer village, creating much chaos for everyone. Eren, Mikasa and Armin’s bond is well-represented.

The scenes felt so real. The aftermath of everything just makes me want to watch even more. The fear, chaos, and hatred just grew stronger.

The grief and horror lingers on in this episode but what i really like is how Eren's rage doesn't feel heroic instead it feels more raw and unstable.

I honestly don’t like Eren’s character so far. He’s so brazen that it becomes annoying at times. I do like how Mikasa keeps him grounded and reminds him of his place. I’m also confused about the key, I’m not sure if what happened was really a dream or not.

If you know attack on titan, you gotta know the crazy amount of foreshadowing. Love the episode, solid amount of action, the pacing is a bit slow but it's necessary. Also love the amount of insight on how the political scenario inside the walls function.

A painful continuation focused on grief, trauma, and rage. The emotional impact drives the narrative more than action.

Straight into the action again. An incredible amount of detail and realism is put into humanity's standing during crucial moments. You can't help but feel emotional and sympathetic to them.

Peak episode! The action and story is phenomenal! The animation is superb and the building-up of the character's emotions is intensifying especially Eren's. The armored titan first appearance is so peak -what a great entrance! It is so cool!

The cannons doing zero damage to that armored monster makes everything feel so hopeless, and the way the soldiers just stood there in shock was brutal to watch.

My heart broke for Armin when they handed him that old hat and knowing the government just sent his grandpa to die for some extra bread is so messed up

You can really tell how much Mikasa cares about keeping Eren alive even if she has to punch him in the face and force him to eat

That armored beast running through the gate was absolutely terrifying and there is no way humanity survives this kind of power

A flashback with the needle and the key really caught me off guard because it makes me wonder what the hell Grisha was doing while his family was dying and now Eren has this random mission to reach a basement in a ruined city while also trying to survive basic training and it just adds such a weird mystery to the horror

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly continuing the Colossal Titan's breach from Episode 1, this episode completes the fall of Shiganshina and locks in the foundational trauma for the show's three leads. It closes out the opening disaster arc and serves as the emotional launchpad for everything that follows—the training, the military enlistment, and humanity's broader fight for survival that will define the remaining twenty-three episodes of Season 1.
