LEVI TO THE RESCUE. Damn I love seeing everyone work together to get humanities first ever victory against the titans and then the arrival of the scouts at the end of epic. Reminds you that the whole time we've been working with much less experienced people because the scouts are the only ones who deal with titans regularly and they were out of the walls from ep 4 until now

The episode delivers a strong sense of triumph while still maintaining the series’ constant atmosphere of danger.

The Trost arc reaches its climax and it earns every bit of the payoff. Levi's entrance is everything. The aftermath is somber and respectful — this show never lets victory feel cheap.

I cried during Eren’s speech.I could really feel the relief and renewed hope from everyone. I’m so glad about how this episode turned out. And I can confidently say Armin is my favorite male character. He always finds a way to turn even the worst situations into something hopeful

The closing of the Trost arc felt earned but still there's this quiet unease under everything. Eren's power works, yes and it provided a hope for teh future to come. With a lot of casualties, somehow Marco also died in the battle.

Eren carrying that boulder! He really looked badass. Something fishy is going on here! Anyway, the animation of the titans grouping up together to try to stop Eren from blocking the whole is so badass!

I actually held my breath when Eren slammed that rock into the hole and the yellow flare went up because seeing humanity finally get a win after all that death felt huge

I can't get over that ending in the dungeon with Erwin and Levi because the atmosphere was so heavy and scary. Eren just saved the city and now he is chained up like a monster. It makes me wonder if the military is going to be a bigger problem than the titans soon, and also seeing Marco like that was pure trauma

You see the yellow flare and think it is a win, but then they show the piles of bodies and the smoke from the fires and it feels like a defeat

Why was Annie apologizing to those corpses because it felt so weird and secretive compared to how the rest of the scouts were acting after the battle ended

You can see the exact moment Jean changes when he has to identify Marco and it is so dark that his best friend died alone without anyone even noticing it happen

That guy Levi showing up on top of the rock was the coolest thing and he just saved everyone before the titans got them while looking totally bored with the whole situation

Erwin staring at Eren through those bars while holding that key was so intimidating and then Levi just threatens to kill him right there which was a very intense way to end

I was so mad seeing Eren in chains after he literally saved everyone but that conversation with Erwin and Levi in the dungeon was so tense

Eren carrying that massive boulder across the plaza was terrifying because he looked like his body was literally falling apart under the weight before he finally sealed the hole

The elite squad giving their lives just to lure the titans away was brutal, especially seeing Ian go out like a hero to make sure the path stayed clear for Eren

That long recap at the start really killed the momentum of the actual battle and those still frames were a bit much

You really feel the weight of that boulder when Eren is stumbling toward the hole and the music makes the whole scene feel so desperate and heavy

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 13 marks the climax of the Battle for Trost arc, which has consumed roughly the first half of the season since Eren's squad first faced the Titans at the wall. The previous episodes built toward the desperate plan to seal the breach, and this installment delivers the execution of that strategy and its immediate aftermath. It effectively closes out the season's opening arc and transitions into the next phase, where the consequences of Trost reshape the political and military landscape going forward.
