Kanata Hoshijima, an athletic kid with leadership ambitions, ends up guiding the group through a series of alien planets as they try to hop their way back to civilization in a salvaged ship. Each planet brings new dangers, dwindling supplies, and the growing realization that someone in the group might be responsible for stranding them in the first place. The cast — including the bubbly Aries Spring, the calculating Zack Walker, and the quietly intense Ulgar Zweig — all start as apparent archetypes, but the show peels back layers on every single one of them in ways that actually pay off. Studio Lerche gives each alien world a distinct look, and the pacing never drags because there's always a new environment or revelation around the corner. The mystery element is where this really shines though. There are twists here that recontextualize everything, and the show plays fair with its clues.
