it was funny seeing her try to stay dignified as a princess while her instincts were clearly taking over and I liked the art style this week

those ogre horns look so cool and the way they animated the glow during the mating scene was a nice touch

looking at the ogre sanctuary designs were so detailed and seeing a serious princess lose her cool was a big surprise

the way her serious personality just snapped when she realized who her partner was actually made that scene better for me

ogre princess acting all serious and then melting when the orc blood kicked in was a whole change of pace

That duel between Gero and Naruko looked absolutely incredible and even though the gas thing was a bit weird it was cool seeing Gero respect her power in the end

Shiori basically shouting that she was ready for romance while Gero just stood there completely oblivious made me want to scream at my screen but they are still so cute together

The balance between the funny moments and the intense action scenes felt just right today, especially when the magic show managed to be more visually impressive than the poison fight

The opening gag really worked by tricking you into thinking Gero was searching for a bride when it was really just Naruko looking to be healed

I was not sure how to feel about the aunt getting forgiven so easily after she literally hired an assassin, but the show is so optimistic that it kind of worked out in the end and Shiori moving past her shy girl phase during that magic show was definitely my favorite part because the animation there looked even better than the actual duel

The butterfly landing on the finger at the very end was such a nice touch and it makes you wonder if it connects back to the insect master theme or if it was just for aesthetics

Gero is so dense for missing all those romantic signals from Shiori but it makes their dynamic pretty funny to watch and the animation during the duel was great

Naruko needing that restorative gas to keep fighting felt kind of silly and forced but at least Gero acknowledged her strength in the end so it was not a total waste

Ureshino doing those party tricks and then standing up for her friends was the sweetest thing ever and she really took the spotlight away from everyone else this week

That magic show with Shiori looked even better than the fight and having her act so assertive and confident was a huge highlight for me

That classroom scene had some of the best sound design in the series and the ogre girl has a much better design than the siren from a few episodes ago

The ogre princess acting like a super serious student who only cares about her grades and her people before the mating program started was great for me, because it made the scene in the classroom feel way more intense when she finally broke character and those orc ancestors are clearly doing all the heavy lifting in these encounters for her to react like that

They really leaned into the ogre sanctuary lore this time and seeing a princess act that formal before losing her mind was the best part of the whole ova so far

Her trying to keep a serious face while they were doing the assistance program was hilarious and the orc bloodline definitely explains why she could not keep it up for long

I did not expect the ogre princess to be that stiff about the rules but she folded so fast once the teacher got started and the animation for her skin textures made the whole scene feel high quality

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly after the shy mermaid songstress arc, this episode pivots from a stranger dynamic to a deeply personal one by introducing Ouka, a figure from the protagonist's past. At the season's midpoint — episode 6 of 10 — it signals a shift toward more emotionally invested relationships rather than purely new encounters. It sets up the back half of the season by expanding the protagonist's relational history and laying groundwork for the upcoming elf guard knight episode.
