The vibes are so heavy now. Seeing Akame act all stoic while clearly breaking inside is tough to watch. It’s a bit of a training/grief episode, but it feels earned. You can tell the war is just getting started, and the "Three Beasts" look like they’re going to be a problem.

This episode sets up the "Three Beasts" as the next threat to the group. I really like Esdeath in this ep, she feels all too powerful and unhinged. The world building here is good as we explore more beyond the empire, and we see the political reach of the empire.

The emotional impact on an individual is truly commendable. This one captures the particular notion correctly. Politics’ impact on the rule dynamics was the presiding undertone. The overall flow and pace are good here. Also, the animation is pretty swift. Build-up is used nicely.

Yet another exposition episode, now highlighting Night Raid manliest man of them all, Bulat. Esdeath return to capital marks the beginning of trickier fights about to come, she launched her first attack not on Night Raid but their reputation instead. A masterclass in gaslighting.

The team sets out on a dangerous mission involving three highly skilled enemies. Strategy, teamwork, and quick thinking become crucial as the fight begins.

Night Raid is still reeling from the last ep. a powerful new threat enters the picture and they are not messing around. ends on a tense note that sets up the next ep nicely

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the end of the first quarter of the series, Episode 7 directly follows the devastating consequences of Episode 6, forcing Night Raid to confront loss and regroup under pressure. This installment introduces the next major threat from the Empire, establishing the antagonists and stakes for the two-part confrontation that Episode 8 will deliver. It marks a critical pivot point where the show signals that no one is safe, raising the emotional and physical stakes for the remainder of the season.
