We get to know more about Futami’s workmates, they meet her long-distance assistant, & hangs out with Touko. More drama with editors as she enters her “main character arc”, & Satou makes a bold move. A lot going on & again, I wish they did more creative choices with the animation

S1 EP7: I like the idea of Nekonote-San character wherein she has different personity at work and in social media. I love professionalism, especially at her early age. I like this EP, it’s bubbly, kawaii, and soft pacing after a tiring day.

This episode expands on some of our other characters relationship with their work and how it relates to Futami's manga work. As well as some interpersonal relationship drama between Futami and the other editors fighting for her attention.

This episode is considered as one of the best of the season because it perfectly executes the ensemble cast trope. It ends on a high note with a chaotic drinking party that pushes the relationship dynamics even further.

I really liked Sato’s development this episode. When she realized Futami had so many stories she wanted to tell, it hit her that she’d been keeping her in a box. I loved that instead of letting her go to another editor, she chose to start a new story with her.

UP: DANCE PARTY BREAK. Mangaka blasts music and forces everyone to dance. Somehow it works?? The serotonin boost is real. DOWN: Neighbors complain about noise. Worth it for the pages tho. 💃

Creative work takes an unexpected direction here and Nana has to adapt. This episode nails that feeling of “wait… this wasn’t the plan.” Slightly chaotic but very entertaining.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 6's exploration of the trio's evolving dynamic, Episode 7 shifts focus to Nana's professional world and the relationships she maintains outside her immediate circle, adding new texture to her character. This is a pivotal mid-season episode that introduces fresh interpersonal dynamics right at the halfway mark. The developments here directly set the stage for the challenges Nana faces in Episode 8, making it an essential connective chapter.
